You Have Leukemia

Father Colum Power was born on September 14 (1965), the day of the feast
of the Triumph of the Cross, in Cork (Ireland), and was raised in a family
deeply catholic. He is the fifth of nine brothers, all male.
In the seventies and eighties, he moved away from the Catholic faith until, at
age of 31, in 1996, he had a strong experience of God that supposed
a dramatic change of life. In that same year he felt the call to
priesthood. Seven months later he responded to that call consecrating himself
as a religious in the Servants of the Home of the Mother. On December 20,
2003, he was ordained a priest. A few months later, he made his vows
perpetual poverty, chastity and obedience, along with a fourth vow of
defend the Eucharist and the honor of Our Mother, especially in the
privilege of her virginity, and a promise to devote her life to the conquest
of youth for Christ. It was sent with a community to States
United to work apostolically in a Catholic university. Little bit
before completing two years of work there, suddenly, he was hospitalized
with an extremely rare form of leukemia that took him to the
threshold of death.
